Standards Conformance

The nice thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from. - Andrew Tannenbaum

The icons that appear on the lower right corner of the web site indicate compliance with various web standards, all of which are described in greater detail at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

XHTML 1.0 (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language)

CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)

RSS 2.0 (Really Simple Syndication)

WCAG 1.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0)
This site conforms to "Level A" of the WCAG 1.0.

The first three standards have "validators" at the W3C web site. The WCAG standard has at least two services that provide single web page validators and both sell commercial products that are more full featured. See the following sites for more information:

WebXACT by Watchfire Corporation (a.k.a. "Bobby")

    Printer Friendly

Standards conformance: (what does this mean?)
