Greetings Alumni,
Happy New Years from your award-winning Greater Philadelphia Illini Club! The University of Illinois Alumni Association awarded the club its highest honor: 2009 Outstanding Club Award. The Philly Illini Club was chosen for its variety of events, club participation, and for hosting the Penn State verses Illinois tailgate. Local alumni clubs don’t get any better than this! We want to thank all of you who have contributed to the organization. If you haven’t had a chance to participate, now is the time!

Our website has a complete listing of events, including the upcoming Scholarship Event on January 30th at North Bowl in Philadelphia. In our news section, check out our previous scholarship winner, Jake Antoniello of Yardley. Current or incoming Illini can get our upcoming scholarship application on-line as well. Our website also has all your latest news from campus, current Daily Illini articles, Fighting Illini sports information and the latest from the University of Illinois Alumni Association. Please RSVP by January 22nd 2010. Payment can be made either by check (made out to "Greater Philadelphia Illini Club" and sent to P.O. Box 175, Jenkintown, PA 19046) or through our website: www.greaterphillyillini.org. Can’t attend the event? Please consider making a donation to our scholarship fund. Direct donations to the fund can be made to the University of Illinois Foundation. Any donation will be counted toward your record at the university.
The leadership team also is planning basketball game watches, a Philly food tour, Phillies game and a tailgate before the Illinois football game verses Penn State. Just head to our website for the latest information regarding these and other events!
Finally, if you decide not to join our group and still would like e-mail updates on events, please register in our website. It’s simple and takes very little time. We don’t want you to miss any events that fit into your schedule.
Also, we encourage feedback. Let us know how we are doing! Our new website also has that capability as well. If you’d like to join the leadership team, let us know and we’ll get you to our next leadership meeting.
